Now Pay Taxes Using NIK No need for NPWP

Now Pay Taxes Using NIK No need for NPWP. The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance. Will replace the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) by using the Population Identification Number (NIK). This change was made to facilitate the integration of taxation data using population data.

Director of Tax Regulations I of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP). Hestu Yoga Saksama said that later taxpayers who had just registered. Would not be given an NPWP because they simply used their NIK. Meanwhile, those who already have an NPWP on their journey will also be replaced entirely using a NIK.

“First, those who don’t have it, register, immediately give the NIK. But wait for PMK. But after a while for those who already have it, it will gradually be replaced with NIK. Informed by DGT, now you just use NIK,” said Yoga when the media briefing in Jakarta, Friday (27/5/2022).

Tax data integration

He added that the implementation of tax data integration. Using population data would be regulated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK). However, Yoga said that the transition from those who already have an NPWP to NIK will be carried out through notification from the DGT.

“One day, I don’t know when, the old one will actually finish its journey. The application is like that. This is for convenience and for us as an institution, we have been building NPWP for more than 40 years, but for the sake of our identity, we sacrifice NPWP, now we use NIK,” he said.

DGT ensures that the use of NIK instead of NPWP does not make everyone a taxpayer. Because they will only become taxpayers and are obliged to pay taxes when they have income, so people don’t need to worry.

“This is what we need to underline, that not everyone who has a NIK will have to pay taxes later. The context is, this is the convenience of private individuals in Indonesia if they register an NPWP because they have started to have a salary, only the NIK will be given later, not an NPWP like now. ,” he concluded.
