Restore the Economy, East Java Tax III Socializes PPS

The Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) East Java III held a socialization of the Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS) to entrepreneurs in Banyuwangi, Monday (7/3). The activity, which was attended by 100 Banyuwangi entrepreneurs, was held in the Tik Liong Tian Rogojampi Temple hall.

The Head of the East Java Regional Tax Office III Agustin Vita Avantin said he was very grateful to the entrepreneurs in Banyuwangi who had paid taxes. This is because, in 2021, the payment of DGT and KPP Pratama taxes in the Banyuwangi area reached 103 percent. “This achievement is of course the contribution of entrepreneurs in Banyuwangi,” said Vita, Agustin Vita Avantin’s nickname.

According to Vita, PPS is a mandate of the Law on Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP). Individual taxpayers and tax amnesty participating entities who have assets that have not been disclosed can participate in this PPS. This program can also be followed by individual taxpayers (WPOP) who have not participated in the tax amnesty with an asset base of 2016–2020 that has not been reported in the 2020 Annual SPT.

“We invite all attendees to participate in this PPS program before the specified deadline, which is from January 1 to June 30, 2022. Don’t delay until the end of the period so that you don’t experience system problems due to too many taxpayers accessing the system at the same time. together,” he said.

PPS provides an opportunity for taxpayers to report or disclose tax obligations that have not been fulfilled voluntarily. “We have also opened many communication channels to make it easier for taxpayers to conduct consultations. The communication channels, such as telephone, messaging applications, email, and social media,” he explained.

Vita added that honesty in paying taxes really helps the government and ourselves in developing this country. In addition, helping to deal with and overcoming the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic which was very heavy and lasted for the last two years. “Hopefully this PPS can be successful and useful for all of us. We hope that entrepreneurs in Banyuwangi can take part in this PPS,” he hoped.

The government held a PPS to provide an opportunity for taxpayers to disclose their assets so that they can pay taxes correctly. There are two policies in PPS. The first policy is for tax amnesty participants who have not disclosed their assets in the 2016 tax amnesty.

The second policy is for individual taxpayers whose assets come from 2016 to 2020 income, but have not been reported in the 2020 Annual SPT. Participants who take part in the PPS will be subject to Final Income Tax (PPh) whose rates vary according to the condition of their assets.

PPS is a good opportunity for taxpayers who have participated in the tax amnesty to disclose all assets that have not been reported. He reminded that there will be sanctions if the undisclosed assets are known to the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT). “If DGT finds assets that have not been reported, DGT will impose sanctions. Use this opportunity if you want to avoid a 200 percent penalty by joining this PPS,” said Vita.

Head of KPP Pratama Banyuwangi Eko Budi Hartono said that this PPS program is a means for the government to develop the country from the tax sector. “Hopefully we can synergize with each other in cooperation with entrepreneurs in developing the country to restore the country’s economy,” said Eko.

DGT’s socialization with the theme “Together Building the Country by Restoring PPS Economy” was attended by a number of businessmen from the Banyuwangi Chinese community. Among them are Ami Santoso, Aminoto, and the Head of Rogojampi Hartono sub-district and also the Head of KPP Pratama Banyuwangi Eko Budi Hartono.
